Fire Safety Law

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) is the main piece of legislation that governs fire safety in England and Wales. It came into effect on October 1, 2006. The FSO applies to almost all buildings, places, and structures, with the exception of individual private homes.

The FSO applies to all workplaces and the common parts of buildings containing 2 or more domestic premises.

Article 9 of the FSO states "The responsible person must make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks to which relevant persons are exposed for the purpose of identifying the general fire precautions he needs to take to comply with the requirements and prohibitions imposed on him by or under this Order."

AV Fire Safety can assist responsible persons in achieving compliance. Contact Us to discuss your needs and find out more information.
